Stunning, near mint 2003 Gibson Pilot Run 60's Authentic Hummingbird in Heritage Cherry Sunburst. I believe this model pre-dates the 'True Vintage' series and was one of only 24 made in Bozeman, Montana, with close attention by Ren Ferguson — the Gibson Acoustic Master Luthier. The guitar plays like a dream and sounds gorgeous with vocals — what it was designed to do! Mechanisms on this guitar work with precision and the finish has a beautiful muted, vintage feel (standard Hummingbirds tend to be a bit gaudy imo). Beautiful mid-range, deep bass and shining treble. The intonation is perfect to my ear, with balanced and musical overtones. The guitar is factory original with no added electronics or strap button. It's a collector-worthy guitar. The guitar features a perfect 60's style pickguard from the original 1960's moulds (these are stamped so the design doesn't wear off) and also a great early 1960's style Lifton case which holds the guitar firmly, offering maximum protection. Again, this sought-after guitar is 100% original, with original case and tags.

I have gigged with this guitar on only very few occasions and mostly kept her in my studio so the guitar is played-in, but has not been worked hard. Always kept in the case in a smoke-free zone out of harm's way.

This guitar is approaching the 20 year old mark but for her age, she is near-immaculate. I have done my best to depict one minor surface blemish — an isolated hazing crack in the glaze at the base of the soundboard, which remains unchanged and is only aesthetic. There are some other very minor scuffs from use, which are frankly so minor they don't show in photos. There is plenty of life left in the frets, with some very minor wear on the first few frets on the top E and B strings.
