Well, here it is. The holy grail of modded Marshalls: a Cameron "Ocean" modded Super Lead. If you're here, you probably already know what this is but for those that don't Mark Cameron's modded Marshalls are some of the rarest, most coveted amps in existence and this "Ocean" mod is the most desirable of his mods. Mark Cameron is a very controversial figure but everyone agrees his amps are likely to be the best you've ever played.
Mark didn't follow any formula when making his amps. Each one is different and he put different options on each depending on the feel, sound, and characteristics of the amp. While this 1959 SLP is a single channel amp, Mark loaded it with an insane number of options for maximum tonal versatility. On the front you have two switches: one for three different gain structure modes and a second that's a three position bright switch. On the back you have the "Gain Style" control, a five-way switch that takes you from less compressed vintage crunch all the way through saturation and diode-clipping insanity on the other end.
Make no mistake, this is a high gain amp. You'll never need to boost it or otherwise throw a pedal in front of it. The harmonic content and under-the-finger feel are unreal and everything you play just works. It absolutely screams and you will love this amp.
There are some scuffs and nicks in the tolex, but nothing serious and the amp functions perfectly. The amp in the video is this exact amp. (The Cameron logo was added later.)
Yep, my price is high. No, I'm not in a rush to sell and I'm not desperate. Any messages requesting my "best price" or my "bottom line" will be ignored. You either want this or you don't. It's that simple. Don't hesitate or you'll miss your chance. Good luck finding another one. You won't. Literally one or two of these might come up for sale in a calendar year. This is your chance to own one today.
All sales are final, I'm not a music store just a collector and player. Ask all questions before buying. For serious buyers, I am willing to do a Zoom or FaceTime. Serious buyers only. Although this amp is in Arizona, it has always been stored in a humidity and temperature controlled environment.
