Custom Neve 31083 Dual Channel Pre amp with stepped pots (Previously Owned by Michael Brauer)
This is a very special one-of-a-kind unit, that lived on Michael Brauer's mix bus, not just one like it, THIS EXACT unit! The unit is signed by Michael Brauer (on the top) and comes with certificate of authenticity. Some of the artists mixed through this are Coldplay, John Mayer, Aretha Franklin, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Dream Theater, to name a few.
The youtube link on this post, shows Michael Brauer telling the story of the unit. It's a custom unit that was modded by Mercenary Audio to take 2 Neve 31083s and place them in a horizontal configuration. I used this unit extensively in the recording of my band's recent EP and now I have to part with it to settle a massive unexpected tax bill. If you look up any of Michael Brauer's mix tutorials, where he's in the studio, you can see this unit behind him (Bon Jovi comes to mind).
The 31083 is a variation of the classic 1081. It has the additional features of stepped knobs for exact recall for mastering use. The Neve 1081 / 31083 is a Class A/B discrete Mic Pre/4 band EQ.

One of the best sounding and most versatile mic pre/EQ's ever made, and a step up from the 3 band 1073’s. During this period, Neve created three of its most iconic products: the 2254 Compressor/Limiter in 1968, the 1073 Mic Pre/EQ in 1970, and the 1081 Mic Pre/EQ in 1973.
