The Sigma SD28 Reborn, Revived, and Renewed... is a stunning traditional, premium quality dreadnought with a great tonal personality, and it generates a full, dynamic and open tone with lots of highs and bass. Made with a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides, the SD28 is a very traditional guitar, but its internal construction is a forward shifted, scalloped X-bracing system with some proprietary tweaks. This creates a more modern, more open and more dynamic tonal palette than many traditional dreadnoughts.

Traditional components such as a real bone nut and saddle, mahogany neck with a dovetail joint and rosewood bridge and fingerboard add to its tonal capabilities and overall quality. And, cosmetically, it is a true classic with ivory ABS binding and inlays.
As is the case with all of the guitars from Tallman Instruments... we take the usual factory set-ups to the next level... re-checking/slotting the string clearances at the nut and checking clearances the 12th frets. We rock the adjust the frets to be sure they are level. We dress the frets with Micro-mesh pads to polish them to a shine. The rosewood on the fingerboards and bridge are cleaned with medical alcohol pads and are then treated with a specially formulated natural oil compound used in restoring and preserving wooden antiques and are buffed to a low gloss shine. The total guitar body is then hand-buffed with swirl-removing agents and polished to a "almost-comb-your-hair-in-it" shine. Each guitar is then played all the way up the neck to verify there is no buzzing and to check intonation. Your guitar comes to you absolutely ready to play... except for your initial tuning... as we are believers in shipping a guitar with no stress on the neck. We take our set-ups seriously... and we want to put that satisfied smile on your face when you first sit down with it and strum that first chord :-)

Just received this note from a recent SD28 customer:  The guitar sounds great and I couldn't be more happy.  I sat at the kitchen table and played for around 3 1/2 hours last night all I can say is thank you so much for the great service. The entire process was great. Fast shipping great service. I brought the guitar to work this morning to let my friend who has got me into playing look at it and pick it some. After playing it for a couple of minutes he looked up at me with a big grin on his face "man you got a heck of a deal, " Thanks again Rick!
Another... The guitar was delivered today and wow I love it sounds great tuned easy and packaging was top notch. this will be a great addition to my 1974 d35 martin thanks, thanks, thanks

Another.... I picked up the guitar (SD28) after work today and I was blown away by the tone.  It has come into full voice, and the sound is incredible.   My buddy  is a Martin owner (1978 or 79 HD-28), full-time working pro, and has a great ear for both amplified and acoustic sound, and the two of us spent several hours with my new guitar, comparing it to others and playing the living daylights out of it.    Some things to note:   I outfitted the Sigma with a Fishman Neo D 02 humbucking pickup, and it is best amplified acoustic sound I've ever achieved, even better than what I've been able to get from either of my Martins.    I think that playing the guitar through the amp at a fairly loud volume in an enclosed space caused the top to vibrate and that is why the guitar suddenly came into full voice.    The guitar is very forgiving.  Like any guitar, the tone changes depending whether I am picking near the bridge or over the sound hole, but no matter where I pick the tone is great.  Some of my other guitars have a very small "sweet spot," and limits what I can do.  Also, I didn't have to fuss with the EQ at all.  The big and balanced sound makes it easy for the pickup to do its job.   Thanks for hooking me up with this great guitar.
Here is another from Canada: Hello Rick,
I've been playing the instrument for the last few weeks and it is exactly what I wanted. Just wanted to thank you again for the good service and for the wonderful guitar.
Another from WV says: Got the guitar, thanks so much for all your help... it's beautiful and plays beautiful too! It's definitely an incredible instrument, I've not played a whole lot of high end guitars, but of those I've played, this one is just as nice!
