This is a super shallow body Ovation Custom Legend (model 1869).  This Ovation has a AAA Sitka spruce top, mahogany/maple neck with ebony fingerboard, a carved ebony bridge (a rare feature) and gold Schaller tuners.  There is a bridge mounted piezo pickup and the Op24 electronics include a volume control and graphic equalizer. This guitar was built in the USA in 1989 and is a relatively rare item and will become increasingly rare because Ovations are no longer built in the USA.

Shallow body acoustic guitars are great for playing plugged in and live because they are less prone to feedback issues.  Further, the action on this instrument is low, the neck is straight, the frets are in great shape and the guitar is very easy to play.  Electric players will feel very comfortable with this guitar; the neck will feel very familiar.

This guitar is in exceptionally good shape because it was sent back to the New Hartford Ovation factory in mid 2013 to have the top refinished, the action reset and the frets re-dressed.  I have been the sole owner of this Ovation.  It has been well cared for and never exposed to cigarette smoke or non climate controlled environments.  For lovers of Ovation guitars this was manufactured when they were at their very best.  The inlay work is perfect and the guitar from an aesthetic standpoint is absolutely stunning.

I am offering free shipping and will use USPS priority mail.  I will insure the item for full value and I do require the item to be signed for when received.
