Vintage 1980 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass Guitar Beautiful Condition

If you are here, you know what you are looking at. This is an amazing example of the iconic Rickenbacker 4001 Stereo Bass. It really needs no description.

This bass was manufactured in 1980 is oozing with gorgeous Birdseye Maple throughout. You don't see many Rics with this sort of highly figured Birdseye Maple. Look very closely at the natural figuring in the nicely seasoned almost half century old wood on this elegant instrument. Some areas almost look like dents but they are not. They akin to the exquisite grain structure of this beauty. The photos do not do this bass justice.

This bass has that thunderous low end and scale-able growl that Rics are known for.

The neck is of the thin profile that so many Rickenbacker fanatics seek out. Some Rickenbacker basses were made with thinner more comfortable and faster necks, as opposed to the more recent and the mid to late 70s thick baseball bat deep C profile necks. The neck on this bass is to die for.

This instrument is all original with no modifications other than the original strap buttons being replaced with Schaller strap locks (for safety while wearing a strap). This Bass will ship in a Modern Rickenbacker 4003 molded Bass Case that is in good condition. other than one of the metal feet that has broken through the molded plastic, which is a common problem with these molded Rickenbacker SKB made cases. Aside from that crack in the plastic from the metal foot, the case functions as it should with all hinges and latches functioning 100%.

Please examine all photos very closely and don't hesitate to ask for more if you'd like to see anything in particular. I have many photos of this bass. The bass is in excellent vintage condition with wear that is consistent with the age of the bass. It has been played, but it has been extremely well taken care of. The finish has some swirls, light worming on the back from wear, and some bumps and bruises here and there, but nothing that takes away from the beauty of this gorgeous example of a wonderful Rickenbacker 4001. The finish is just amazing, due to the fact that it has aged to a golden hue over the years. The action is low and the bass is strung with flat wound strings. The tone is quintessential Rickenbacker 4001 all the way!

The person who purchases this bass will be very proud of this fine vintage piece!

I'm pretty firm on the price, due to the incredible shape that this bass is in. However, I am willing to listen to any offer within reason.

Don't hesitate to ask for more photos before making an offer or purchasing this amazing instrument. If I don't have the photos you'd like to see readily available, I'm happy to take more photos of the bass and send them upon request. Also, don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
