Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Traditional 60s Jazzmaster in like-new condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and gigbag. An FSR (Factory Special Run) example with a Sherwood Green gloss finish, this particular iteration of the Traditional 60s Jazzmaster platform was made for a single dealer in Japan. Other features pertinent to this particular variant on the Traditional platform include an alder body, medium jumbo fretwire, and a Mustang-style bridge with barrel saddles. The current Traditional series Fender Japan models are designed exclusively for the domestic Japanese market, rarely seen outside their country of origin.
A reinvention of Fender Japan's Jazzmaster platform, the new Traditional 60s model features Fender USA V-Mod black bobbin pickups, as well as USA-made CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, and USA Fender plastic parts. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of powerful and defined tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 7lbs 12oz, the guitar balances well on a strap, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings (string gauge and setup can be dialed in to buyer's preference at no charge upon request).
The maple neck has a chunky C shape with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, offering quite a bit more heft than most Jazzmasters, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features flawless medium jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the fingerboard with a modern-spec 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the carved bone nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"). The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function flawlessly, with a vintage-spec Jazzmaster control layout. The vibrato unit is smooth and responsive, actuating easily for surfy warbles and dives, working in concert with the Mustang-style bridge with barrel saddles. The chrome-plated hardware and plastic parts are perfect, and the clear protective plastic is intact on the mint green pickguard. The guitar is showroom clean without a scratch on it, and the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with all the hangtags.
***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jazzmaster pickups, any of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
