Mario Maccaferri was an instrument pioneer in alternative materials. His plastic guitars are well known and his violins actually were played in Carnegie Hall. Check out the great sound of these instincts YouTube. We purchased this when my son started playing violin as a kid and you can see the position markers which are easily removed. Over the years the wooden bridge piece supporting the strings has disappeared but is easily replaced. No bow but a protective plastic soft case comes with the violin. Will need new strings. These are not only playable but collectible and this one has the Maccaferri label and is individually numbered. A great instrument for the beginner or collector or player looking to mix it up. Have seen these selling for over $200. Yours for $80
