Originally designed and built by Mike Soldano in the 90's, the Speedster amps were his take on a classic "Deluxe" type amplifier. 2 6V6's, spring reverb, with matching single 12" speaker cab. However, it's his take on the amp. With a retro classic hot rod looks, the hot rod color, and the meter on the front, this thing screams old car!
...The meter on the front does actually work and serves a purpose. The knob to the lower left of the meter is a bias switch that allows you to bias the power tubes (6V's) while you are playing. Want em' colder - dial it back - want em scorching hot - dial it up.
The matching cab looks like the front end of an old hot rod Chevy or cut down Ford, and is loaded with a custom Eminence speaker.
The Speedster has a gorgeous old "American" tone with a great reverb on colder bias, and when dialed up, can get really distorted with a smooth creamy overdrive.
Amp is very good shape, with only a few small dings and scratches, and are shown in the photos. Additionally, this early version of the amp (#21!) is signed by Soldano, and has a direct recording "out" for all you studio guys. A great sounding rig and a little piece of history from Mike Soldano!
