1960 Fender Harvard Model 5F10

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1960 Fender Harvard Model 5F10.

Only produced between 1955 and 1961 in the old Fullerton factory, the Harvard 5F10 was a unique amplifier for Fender. It had no direct predecessor and (despite the name's revival later) no descendant in the company's line. When introduced, it filled a gap between student models, such as the Princeton, and Fender's more professional Deluxe. If you need an idea of what one of these amps can do, dive into some Stax classics: Steve Cropper used a 5F10 to get that searing lead tone on "Green Onions" as well as the mellow sound for "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay."

Cosmetically, this 1960 example is in nearly mint condition. The tweed has developed a light patina with only minor signs of wear. The faceplate is also in good shape and the original leather handle is still holding on. Internally, it features two 6V6 power tubes, which yield around 10 watts; a 12AX7 phase inverter; and a 6AT6 input. All wiring and other internal features seem to be original, including the speaker, which is stamped 220942. The pots are dated the 25th week of 1959. As a special treat, there is a piece of masking tape in the chassis sporting the name "Lily," which means this was wired by the Fullerton legend herself!
