EXCEPTIONAL First Year production, 1968 Guild D-35. LOUD RESONANT AND TONEFUL.. The HOBOKEN New Jersey Era Guild Acoustic guitars are special and of course more rare.. They (Guild Hoboken Era guitars) were lighter designed instruments and more akin to their Martin counterparts in comparison to the later Guild models produced in the 70's and 80's.

Listen (VIDEO) to how another beautiful 1968 Guild D35 sounds on the video link below. This is very representative of the tone and natural volume of these early model ALMOST MYSTICAL QUALITY Guild acoustics built in the legendary HOBOKEN N.J factory..

Serial number: OJ 119.. These earlier models simply exhibit a more complex and resonant acoustic quality. They are amazing recording instruments as well AND wonderful for performance dates. This guitar is setup very well.. However, one smaller section on the back of the guitar shows a repair.. overall, very well done. There is one thin (flat to top) wood crack from back of bridge to tail end. See pic.. No other damage of any significance. The clear coat does have the smaller spider cracks if you hold it in the light right. I tried to show that in one of the side pictures. HOWEVER, with all that said..  the natural tone and volume and resonance of this classic projects out beautifully and full.

Solid Sitka Spruce top. Solid Red Mahogany back and sides. 1968..  51 Earth years of playing time has made the sound of this rare instrument a real stand out. The head stock picture shows how the black top is de-laminating somewhat This has not increased at all and probably is an easy fix but I never cared nor does it take from the playability. I am not the original owner so the history is somewhat unknown.

All parts definitely look to be ALL original to the guitar and I base that opinion on experience and comparative knowledge as I have had several of these exceptional Hoboken Guilds before. Forward neck heal strap button already pre-installed! Makes life a little easier. The guitar will ship in a clean hard-shell case. Excellent protection. Please message me with any questions. I do not think you will be displeased with this outstanding instrument.  First year of production,1968  Later Guild models of the mid 70's and 80's are significantly different.. they are still some very well made instruments and but namely, they are heavier, with less resonance.

Thanks for your interest in the Guild guitar. Please email me if you have any additional questions. I will be glad to reply. The guitar will be shipped via UPS with tracking and insured with Reverb.
