The invention of the solid body guitar really freed designers up. A guitar no longer had to look like a guitar. Nobody took more chances and came up with more inspired designs than what came out of Japan in the 1960s. With the space-race in full swing this Teisco model really captured that spirit with its sweeping lines that echo a space-ship and the metal pickguard which really makes you think you can fly this thing into orbit. All that said, this is a guitar so if it doesn't sound good then it's all for naught. Thankfully, this square-poled variety of pickup is one of the most expressive and full of life.
