Summary:

While far from a collector grade, this semi-restored, refinished Washburn is a great find for the price. Rare Tonk Bros. era model has had quite of bit of work, so please make sure and read all our notes below, and ask any questions before buying.

Neck:

Burst mahogany neck and rosewood are straight, but as a whole the neck could use a reset to achieve better playability and action. Both frets and fingerboard show play wear throughout. There are two bolts with washers that hold the neck on through the neck block.

Body:

Refinished Mahogany back and sides show light play wear. There are several cracks on the back that have been repaired many, many years ago with cleats. They are no longer moving. Spruce top has had some splice work done to several cracks and the repairs look to be down very well. Ladder braced. Slightly lighter in shade, but they are for the most part flush with the top. Many of the cleats that were used to repair this guitar are of a larger size. Tension on the bridge is pulling up on the belly of the top causing a slight dip around the sound hole.

The rosette around the soundhole looks to be replaced berfore the refinish work was done.

Pickguard: Unoriginal, newer - not factory spec.

Hardware:

Tuning machines are unoriginal, but do work well. Modern compensated bridge saddle has been installed.

Case:

Original chip board case is included in sale.
