Kawai Vintage, Rare, 1960s Norma Model TV-993 (also Model EG 411-3), Electric Guitar

VINTAGE & RARE Mid 1960s KAWAI, Made in Japan, “Norma” Brand 3 Pickup Electric guitar, Model TV-993 (also Model EG 411-3). THIS IS A VINTAGE 1960S ERA INSTRUMENT! PLEASE DON’T EXPECT IT TO SOUND LIKE, FEEL LIKE, OR PLAY LIKE THE 2022 SQUIER STRATOCASTER YOU TRIED OUT AT GUITAR CENTER!

23.75 inch scale. Solid Body. Circa 1965. This is a great example of the vintage and increasingly rare early electric guitars that were made in Japan by Kawai and are sought after by collectors.
      According to my research on this instrument (and there is not a lot of information out there) Kawai bought out Teisco in the mid 1960s and produced this model designated as TV-993 as well as EG 411-3. Kawai had MANY sub brands as well as “NORMA”! Weight: 6 pounds 2 ounces. Action: 1/16th inch at 1st fret, 1/8th inch at 12th fret. Fully functional truss rod. Sound: the pickups are 100% functional, Made in Japan, circa mid 1960s. I do not offer my humble opinions on sound, which might be misunderstood (and later become a point of contention between seller and buyer as in: "You said it sounded like a Stratocaster but it doesn't")... especially since the actual "sound" of an instrument depends on so many variables like strings, player technique, and amplifier settings. However, I have included a video demonstration showing the functionality of the switches and knobs. (PLEASE NOTE: if you watch the video, the guitar is THE EXACT SAME GUITAR offered in this listing!          All of my guitars have been fully tested and are functional. All of my guitars have been “set up” (neck straightness adjusted when possible, fingerboard oil treated (if rosewood/laurel/ebony), action set, pickup height optimized, intonation checked) to MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES (as LOW as possible). Please note: “setups” are not “one size fits all”. Your personal set up requirements might be different from mine, so, additional adjustments may be needed to suit your setup preferences. To protect the guitar from damage, the string tension will be relieved before shipping per Reverb.com requirements. You'll need to tune the guitar to pitch when it arrives. Let the instrument acclimate to your environment! Differences in altitude and temperature from my shop to your location have an effect on the instrument. Additionally, vibrations caused during days in a truck being shipped to you might loosen screws and bolts! This is a perfectly NORMAL occurrence during shipping! It doesn’t mean your instrument is DAMAGED! Because of all these factors, you will NOT be able to pull this instrument out of the shipping box and start playing it! Also, for optimal sound and playing ease, I advise buyers to put a new set of strings on the guitar, the string brand and gauge of their preference. If your guitar has a Tremolo Bridge DO NOT OVERTIGHT TREMOLO ARM WHEN YOU INSTALL THE ARM!!! YOU CAN DESTROY THE TREMOLO ARM BLOCK!!! I suggest you watch some YouTube videos about installing and using Tremolo Arms BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO INSTALL AND USE A Tremolo Arm.
