Made in 1970

Founder Frederick Gretsch started in 1883 with a small musical instrument store that produced banjos, mandolins and tambourines. The idea was passed down to children and reached its heyday around the mid-1950s. There were representative models such as 6119, 6120, and White Falcon, but Gretsch became even more popular because it was used by the popular artist Chet Atkins at the time.

Even today, it will be a model that has been loved for many years as a Beatles item and as an icon of rock and roll by the favorite of George Harrison and Kenichi Asai.

The model features a simulated f-hole, and the pickup is equipped with two high-low trons, which are popular for their sharper and unique sound than the filter tron. Although it is a humbucker in structure, it has a sharp sound like a single coil, but it has a feature that there is little noise because the sound is picked up by only one and the effect of hum noise can be obtained from the other.

The controls are the master volume, the volume of each microphone, the standby switch, the pickup selector, and the tone selector.

When played with a clean amp, it has a gorgeous withered tone, and the rear pickup has a moderately high range that is not too trebry. The front pickup is clear, but a slightly round tone is output. It's not as sweet as a Gibson box, but its unique sound is addictive.

That rock'n'roll sound when played with a gain amp !! I think it's a sound that people who like Benji will love. The age is different from the one used by the person himself, but I think the tendency of the sound is similar. It is recommended to play with the pickup selector as a mix.

The frets were worn out so much that they have been replaced with nuts at our shop. You can see the pickguard replacement. The binding of the body and neck peculiar to Vintage Gretsch is often worn out and peeled off, but we are in the situation of pouring adhesive to reinforce it.

Neck: There is no problem with warping or twisting. String height: 6th string side about 2mm, 1st string side about 1.5mm, which is a standard adjustment. Fret: I just replaced it, so there is no reduction. Truss rod: There is plenty of room.

If the desired string gauge and specified settings are available, we will adjust them before handing over. It weighs about 3.2 kg and comes with a hard case.
