Gibson L-50.
Script logo.
Serial number 7734H 10.
I have located this serial number in the Spann Guide to Gibson serial numbers and it falls under the catagory of instruments made from 1940-1945.
The number 10 is written in red and is the tenth instrument in the batch.
The guitar is in good overall condition.
The body has a bright sunburst finish over a Spruce top and Maple back and sides.
The original Brazilian Rosewood compensated bridge is proud and tall.
The pickguard and hardware are original as is the tail piece and tuners.
There is a center-seam crack which follows the bookmatched back on the upper register which has been glued and cleated.
Additionally, there is a small separation on the upper bout on the back that has also been glued and cleated.
Both have been repaired and are stable.
The guitar has just come back from Kerry Char's shop where the fingerboard was leveled and the guitar was refretted. It plays clearly up and down the fingerboard without fretting-out or buzzing.
A chipper little instrument from the war years when swing was king.
48 hour approval on all guitars and amps.
The case is not included but a suitable case will be furnished.
