RARE! Oldfield Marquis 15 (Model 6715) Guitar Amplifier Head with matching cabinet

A very rare, very cool, near mint amp. This Oldfield amp is a handmade, 15 watt, EL84 amp with EF86 preamp and upgraded ostrich tolex on head and cabinet. See specs below. Power scaling and Celestion G12M-65 Creamback upgrade. Excellent condition with only a few small cosmetic issues (see pics); a small dent on the front top that does not break the tolex; a very light scratch around the knobs; a light scratch on the tolex on the side of the cabinet; and a very small scrape on the tolex next to the corner protector that also has a scrape. Includes original power cord.

The original owner paid $2250 for the head and $700 for the cabinet plus tax (includes power scaling upgrade, speaker upgrade, Ostrich tolex upgrade). See more info listed below.

The Marquis 15 blends the unmistakable EL84 tone from the power section with an EF86 preamp to produce a tonal character that is both unique and familiar. With more headroom than you typically find in an EL84 based amplifier, the 6715 delivers some of the most beautiful clean tones you can imagine and when pushed can deliver warm, creamy distortion or grunge grind. Equipped with a 12-way macro tone selector the amp allows the player to dial up a tonal flavor to best match the instrument being used with just a simple twist of a dial. Fine adjustments to tone are made through the availability of a full tone stack and top cut control. Talk about versatility! The amplifier is well suited for Country, Jazz, Blues and Rock players and is available with optional power scaling and effects loop.
