Up for sale, a Bilt S.S. Zaftig in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Boasting a custom-ordered semi-hollow cocobolo body loaded with a trio of Lollar Jaguar pickups, this Zaftig is visually and sonically unique. A maple neck capped with a bound and block-inlaid rosewood fretboard rounds out the tonewoods, and at 10lbs 4oz the guitar has plenty of natural sustain and the airy warmth indicative of the semi-hollow construction.

A boutique, USA-made Offset instrument, the S.S. Zaftig delivers traditional Fender-esque sparkle and cut, and the five-way pickup selector blade switch offers a broad sonic range from the Lollar Jaguar single coils. The middle pickup is RWRP, so the 2 and 4 positions are hum-cancelling with a thinned-out quack. The controls on the lower body horn replace a traditional Fender "Rhythm Circuit" with Bilt's HiLo two-band EQ. Engaging this circuit bypasses the Tone knob, with individual rollers for high and low frequencies (active in all pickup positions). Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Bilt is dialed in with 10-46 roundwound strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and just a hair more overall heft and roundness as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features a 9 1/2" radius and flawless jumbo fretwire. Notes ring out clearly up the 25 1/2" scale, and the nut measures 1.675" in width (42.5mm). The headstock has Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines that turn very smoothly, holding pitch well even with liberal vibrato use.

The electronics function flawlessly, with an intuitive control array including a three-way pickup selector blade switch, Master Volume and Tone knobs, and Bilt's HiLo two-band EQ circuit on the lower body horn. Hardware includes a Mastery M1 bridge and Bilt-modified (Fender-made) offset vibrato, ensuring optimal resonance, stability, and performance for everything from subtle trills to deep dives. A single-ply black "bakelite" pickguard with subtle graining frames the pickups, along with a pair of thick polished chrome control plates. Wear on the satin finish is limited to just a few extremely faint finish scratches and minor marks relegated to the back, and a tiny repaired split (less than a 1/4”) on the bass-side edge of the neck pocket. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A black tolex hardshell case (Epiphone branded) is included.
