About This Listing

The Fender Musicmaster was introduced in 1956 as the companies most affordable, stripped back option, aimed at the student market. Since then it has found favour with musicians for its comfortable short-scale feel and classic Fender single-coil chime. This guitar was built before the company was sold to CBS, featuring the same materials, workmanship, and craftspeople that made the legendary early Fender guitars that fetch for upwards $100,000.

This 3/4 size 1960 Musicmaster features a super rare solid Mahogany body, 22.5" short scale length, and single slant-mounted brown Bakelite covered pickup at the neck.

This pre-CBS Fender masterpiece features the desirable early Brazilian slab rosewood fingerboard and a lightweight solid Mahogany body refinished in old style Fiesta Red nitrocellulose lacquer with lacquer checking and light relic wear.

The body is outfitted with a 1965 Mustang pickup, newer CTS pots and Switchcraft electronics, original white pickguard, shield, and brown Bakelite pickup cover.

High quality reissues include knobs, Kluson tuners, strap buttons, and neck plate. Original parts include: body and neck (with finish), bridge with saddles, pickguard, shield, Bakelite pickup cover, string retainer, and tuner bushings.

7.25” Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, clay dots, 1.5” bone “A” nut width, medium C profile, 22.5” short scale. The neck retains its original finish and has a newer waterslide decal. The frets have been leveled, polished, and dressed.

The guitar sounds fantastic and is super lightweight at just 6.4 lb.

***The vintage 1960 grey denim hard-shell case is included with asking price only!***

The hard shell case is in very good vintage condition with all hinges, handle, and latches present and in fully working condition. Also, all metal bumper feet are intact and in great condition.
