Used Bach New York 6 Bb tenor trombone handslide, in lacquer finish. This listing is only for a handslide – it does not include a bell. Features include a .485" bore. Slide is in fair condition with surface scratching, lacquer/metal wear, dings on the handslide crook, evidence of repair to the outer slide and plating wear on the inner tubes. The metal on the outer slide is thin and a few cracks have been solder-filled. Includes green leather gig bag.

This handslide is part of the Tom "Bones" Malone collection. Here is what Bones has to say about the NY Bach 6:

"The NY Bach 6 is what I played in the Blues Brothers movie, David Letterman Show, Saturday Night Live and 1,500 recording sessions for records & movies.  Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Urbie Green, Bill Watrous, Jack Jenny & Jack Teagarden played the NY Bach.

The metal alloy of these pre war horns is more resonant.  72% copper, 28% zinc was Vincent Bach’s favorite alloy.  The commercially available alloy was changed when World War II started because the main purpose of brass became bullet shells."
