Gibson USA Blackbird / Thunderbird '02 Rat Rod Black

Selling my Rat Rod Bass. This is a rare and hard to find Gibson Nikki Sixx Blackbird bass made in the USA in '02. This is a savage beast of a bass, leaving death and destruction in its path. Well..ringing ears and blown speakers anyway. It's strung B E A D and been upgraded with Bartolini Soap bar pickups . This bass has ZERO neck dive due to the repositioning of the upper straplock to where a neck plate would be if it wasn't an awesome neck through design. In true Rat Rod form it's been stripped of any unnecessary logos (truss rod cover) and excess hardware. Not even the pickguard which is included along with the paperwork in the awesome original matching Blackbird hard shell case shown. It was designed originally to be somewhat stripped down as it only has a kill switch on deck. No knobbs. Plain, simple, and badass. I wasn't sure if I would be ok with the lack of tone control but as it turns out it was the sound that sold me. Tons of growl and punch and the B string isn't loose or sloppy. A great sounding bass for any hard and heavy needs. Not a pristine show piece, wrong bass for that. This bass is ment to be on stage and bringing the heavy. Has some minor cosmetic flaws but nothing at all that affects the integrity. If you are worried about little cosmetic shit then you are not the right person for this beast. It's surprisingly lightweight at barely over 9lbs. Lighter than the average fender. As you can tell I'm not worried about every potential buyer liking this bass and I'm in no hurry to sell.
