This 1915 Chadwich, 3/4 size violin was appraised by noted Dallas/Ft. Worth luthier Josh Waybright in March of 2014 for $3600 and I'm sure would appraise for much more now. I am a retired orchestra teacher who bought a few smaller size violins in hopes that my grandchildren would play violin. But now we are downsizing and I just don't have room for this one or my other one - a 1/2 size Lauscher from 1894. I have a separate listing for it.
Fractional size violins of this quality are rare and hard to find and precious for seriously advancing young players who need big tone from a little instrument.
It comes with a very sturdy Core case, with humidifier, has place for multiple bows and it latches, zips and has 4 large snaps over the zipper to keep it safe. It has a shoulder strap as well. There is an empty string tube in the top zippered flap where you can store sheet music. It also comes with a Fun shoulder rest not pictured.
The bow is a L. Pierre octagonal bow as pictured. It also has a green humidifier strip in the case along with a cloth and rosin. The strings are old on it so they will need to be replace, but even with old strings, it sounds amazing for a 3/4 violin. Great playing little violin, perfect for the advanced young player who needs more than a starter or student violin. This is a step up instrument for a young musician. I wish I could keep it but unfortunately, I need for it to be played on and not sitting stored in my safe. I am open to offers, so give me your best offer. Shipping will be on the high side due to insurance and packing to ensure safe delivery to you.
A copy of the appraisal is pictured with our name/ address blocked out, so two photos, top of it, then address covered, and bottom of appraisal. The bow is not included in the appraisal nor the case, but they are included in the sale.
