Used - Very Good Condition
  • Body: the head has some light scratches on it and some medium-sized spots of wear in the coating; the hoop and armrest show some light scuff marks, scratches and tarnishing in the finish, plus some of the hooks show a fair amount of rust; the rim shows some light scratches and scuff marks along with a few very tiny dings/indentations
  • Neck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the fretboard looks almost flawless; the back of the neck has large spot of sticky residue at the 9th and 10th fret positions, plus a few obvious scratches, scuff marks, and spots of wear in the lacquer can be found as well; the front, back, and sides of the headstock have some noticeable scuff marks, scratches, and dings
  • Frets: the frets show moderate wear with some small grooves starting to form in the lower to mid frets, however there is no fret out at this time
  • Action and Playability: the action is about medium, plus the neck is straight and the truss rod functions properly
  • Hardware: the tuner buttons and the nut have an aged tint to their finish; the open gear tuners, the 5th string tuning key, and the 5th string capo show a little bit of tarnishing in the finish; the hoop and armrest show some light scuff marks, scratches and tarnishing in the finish, plus some of the hooks show a fair amount of rust

In the 1960's Vega built two different long neck banjos (excluding the rare "Excel"): the "Pete Seeger" with the the Tubaphone tone ring and the simpler Folklore. The Seeger was the choice instrument for big folk groups of the day, and is still revered by many. However, as banjo requirements have advanced, the woody tone rim of the Folklore has become very desirable for a few reasons: its lighter weight, its more basic sound, and the versatility of the extra three frets. Nothing puts smiles on faces quicker than a banjo and this vintage long neck is ready to turn those downward frowns upward!
