- This is a one-off CUSTOM HH. I’ve never seen this Sabian Vintage Ride in a 20”. If you even can find one (outside of a stock photo) they are 21s”.
- This this beauty was special ordered. And it’s $600. I’m not kidding. But you need not worry about that.
- It’s also a newer Re-designed HH. I’ve only seen one other of Vintage Redesigned in the flesh.
- This Custom Sabian HH Vintage 20” perfectly blends DRY with WARM. And that is a very rare combination.
- What’s immediately apparent is how fantastic the straight up stick attack on this Sabian is - it’s one of the DRIER fully lathed cymbals you will hear.
- Being Hand Hammered, the wash has a light shadow of complexity, but overall it’s very controlled sounding. It almost sounds like a cousin to the Artisan ELITE, which is dry.
- Low pitched, wonderfully dark, warm and very SMOOTH with a fairly quick decay. Great woody stick attack - a bit smoky and not overly ping-y. It’s soft and subtle.
- Semi-dry crash that can roar when really laid in to.
- Great rounded over bell. Thinner edge. Hand Hammered all over the place.
- Incredibly versatile.
- One of the nicest truly DARK, WARM, DRY Sabians you will hear. This 20” can work in any style of music.
- Played like it’s 60 years old.
- No issues. Light golden patina that mellows it beautifully.
- I have not seen another in this size. And are-designed too. Very rare. And a rare combination of tones too.
