The Mercurial Boost is a trace by PedalPCB of the Catalinbread Varioboost circuit. If you’re unfamiliar with the circuit, a lot of you will find that it’s one of those pedals you never knew you needed. It’s essentially a clean boost with the added and very useful ability to cut or boost frequencies between 70Hz-1.4kHz. Plays very well either in front of or behind your favorite overdrive pedal. As a plus you can dial in a great cocked wah effect. It’s just an incredibly useful pedal and also a ton of fun rediscovering older overdrive/fuzz pedals when pairing with the Mercurial Boost.
Controls:
-Frequency at top middle: Adjusts the center isfrequency (70Hz – 1.4kHz).
-Boost/Cut at bottom left: Controls the amount of boost/cut of the selected frequencies.
-Gain at bottom right: Controls the overall output signal level.
