This Frank Proffitt-style fretless mountain banjo was built from a kit in 1967 by its previous owner, Mike Rivers. He was a studio engineer, producer and musician, and we are selling numerous items of his on behalf of his estate.
Our senior luthier did a full set up on the banjo including new bridge, Aquila nylgut strings, cleaning and rejuvenating the oil finish. It is now in very good condition (well-built to begin with). It has a warm, dark and haunting sound, and is very fun to play! Gig bag included; slightly large for the instrument.
