Greco VBS-500 MIJ Beatle-style Bass - Early 2000s, Red

Beatles fans - do you like the scale and look of Hofner basses, but prefer a solid body, a quality bridge, powerful modern pickups, a tone control, and other good hardware? Boy, do I have the bass for you.

This is a Greco VBS-500. It's a more modern take on a short scale Hofner 500/1 Beatle bass, but it's very high output (still passive!). It features a single volume & tone, pickup on/off switches, Hipshot bridge and Gotoh tuners. It was made in Japan for the Japanese market, where Greco instruments are super popular. Only real blemish is a piece of paint chipped off from the previous owner. Very good piece here, kinda like a Hofner with some of the properties of the Ric. I enjoyed having it a lot, and I know the next owner will dig it too!
