I have a 2004 German made Warwick Corvette here. It comes with a Warwick deluxe gigbag.
Conditionally this one is VG. Upon scrutiny of it i can find just minor signs of use with no buckle rash or worming or anything more than a few trace surface level indents. The neck looks excellent and the frets have no fretwear and the setup plays great. The electronics are working as they should.
There is one area to point out. At the very bottom of the body there are three faint hairline cracks. They are not at the seam of the body pieces and are very minor. This is fairly common on older Warwick's. It will appear as a hairline and It does not spread out up the body. From my experience this is not even remotely a threat to the stability of the body. In no way is it gonna fall apart. But it is indeed a common issue with these basses because they do not have a solid finish. They have an oil based finish and for that reason what might cause a ding or an indentation on a thick glossed out poly finished guitar can cause these little surface cracks on a Warwick oil finished bass. Often times people fail to even notice or mention it. I am Thorough on all my listings and look for everything. See the last two pics of it.
I will rate this one an 8.7/10 and grade it as very good. From my experience it looks better than average compared to many of the used specimen's of Warwick basses of this age on the used market that are ambiguously described. It is structurally and sonically sound to and plays great. Also note i have given this one an oil/wax treatment. I have a Warwick care kit in my personal stash and polished the body and the neck shaft with it prior to listing it.
The Warwick Corvette sounds bigger and more powerful and dynamic then any bar jazz style equipped bass i have ever heard. It has the level of articulation that those style of pickups are known for. So it's not a boomy, rumble oriented sound. It's distinct and articulate. But full and powerful.
The tonewoods here, they sound like a fine balance of percussive and snappy but not bright. The bass has a warm sound. Warm and smooth. But not as loose sounding as alder or mahogany. But it is definitely a frequency rich sound. This one features the classic Warwick combo of a Bubinga body, Wenge fretboard, and Ovangkol neck shaft.
Warwick American distribution has dwindled quite a bit in the last 10 years. Replaced almost entirely with the Asian made Rock bass series. There is absolutely no favorable comparison between the two product lines. A good German made Warwick is worth snatching up on the used market. They are among the finest basses ever made.
NOTE that currently Sales Tax will be charged in most states and Reverb has opted to cancel the External website that allowed for Tax free checkout. This was very popular and is missed. To those inquiring about any Tax free options. Because of this i am selling on other platforms without Tax. But i cannot steer and guide you to them out of respect and compliance to Reverb. If you want a guitar on Reverb you most likely will pay state sales tax so factor that into your purchase.
This guitar will be carefully packed, with sufficient filler and bracing in the shipping box and if needed a little in the case. I will detune the strings about one half a step prior to shipment. Another step i take is i will denote for it to be shipped "standing" with arrows drawn on the outer box and it will be marked fragile as well. It will be meticulously packed.
Thank you for reading and considering!
