Up for sale is a Baldwin 706 simi hollow from my collection. It’s a very cool guitar, a great player with kind of a gretsch-ish tone that really shines when you throw some distortion on. Unfortunately, the finish has gone all “extra crispy” as these tend to do and is either cracking severely, or just flaking off entirely. To give you a better idea of what’s going on, the finish is like a brittle plastic drum wrap that’s glued onto a laminate top, and it’s coming detached. It’s not affecting anything but the smoothness of the guitar at the moment so it’s nothing to worry too much about, heck, it actually looks kinda cool. There’s also some cracks on the tremolo system which I did my best to photograph. The guitar plays great however with very nice action although there is some light buzzing on open chords. Great for hard country or swamp blues! Both pick ups (which are single coil BTW) function great.
