*RARE* Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1969 Relic Stratocaster, Black over 3-Tone Sunburst

Up for auction is a COMPLETELY brand new, never played Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1969 Relic Stratocaster, Black over 3 Tone Sunburst.  What makes this instrument quite RARE are the following characteristics:

• Only 60 total units were ever made WORLDWIDE

• This particular instrument is the ACTUAL Custom Shop Stratocaster guitar proudly displayed by Fender during the 2014 NAMM show.  Evidence of this is featured in the included photos.  Next to the official Fender Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, you will see a SECOND certificate that is the actual certificate that is featured within the Fender Custom Shop Exhibit during NAMM tradeshows.  This very rare and unique certificate WILL be included within the case candy.  This item alone makes this instrument quite rare, indeed.

The guitar will come in its original hardshell case and will include all the original case candy (image featured).  I have included a HumidiPak within the case in order to properly humidify the guitar.  The Certificate of Authenticity will be included as well (image featured).  You can see the guitar’s listed MSRP is $5,500.  Here is a greater description of the guitar from Fender:

There's nothing quite like an old Strat, and there's certainly nothing quite like an old Strat worn in to perfection. This 1969 Strat Relic from Fender's Custom Shop is built to sound and feel like a Strat from the late 60's that has been updated over the years. In short, it has that unmatchable feel of an old school Fender, but with way more attitude courtesy of the Seymour Duncan humbucker and the Floyd Rose bridge. It's the best of both worlds: Late 60's comfort and vibe, but with modern appointments. Fender's Custom Shop team really nailed the feel of broken-in frets and neck. It's smooth and comfortable in every position - the type of feel that caters to big bends and soulful double stops. You can coax all of your classic Strat twang, shimmer and bite from the middle and neck pickups, and you can get hot modern sounds out of the bridge. It's the perfect setup for the multi-genre artist. It's black, but with 3-tone sunburst underneath. You can see patches of red and orange poking through. Perfect for the Fender enthusiast or the player looking for the perfect marriage of old school feel with modern functionality.

Item Details

This Fender Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster Relic features a black finish over a three tone sunburst finish. The sunburst is wearing through in some spots, which looks awesome.  The maple neck has a mid '60's oval "C" shape - just beefy enough to really dig into without getting in the way of your playing. Some of the finish on the neck has been worn off, so the feel is super smooth and comfortable. The fretboard is rosewood with a 9.5" radius, 21 6105 frets frets and dot inlays. Electronically, this axe is decked out with a Seymour Duncan TB-11 Custom Custom in the bridge and Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single coils in the middle and neck. Chime, high-end shimmer, spank, crunch - it's all there. Add some distortion and you've got the best blues and rock tone around. The body has a heavy level of relicing.

One of only 60 made, this is a relic designed with both the player and collector in mind.   And with the added 2014 NAMM Show Display Certificate, this is truly an incredible investment.
