The National Varsity is an electric made by the Valco company under the National name. The body is constructed of "res-o-glas" which the National 1961 catalog described as a durable material created with polyester resins embeded with threads of glass. This example is in great vintage condition, still housing its original pickup and parts, with the exception of a replaced tailpiece, leaving behind four unplugged holes in the top. Originally this guitar had a foil cover over the pickup and it has since been removed.
