Vintage Dog! Short Scale - 1985 Squire katana Neck

He might be a bit scruffy looking...but he’s been my loyal companion for many years.

A vintage handmade body that is not dated or branded, but shows the proper signs of 30+ years of aging. So cute! Looks like someone’s grandmother made this guy c.1980’s. One of a kind! 
A few years back I had this puppy vetted at New York Guitar Repair & fitted with a 1985 squire Katana neck I had waiting around for the right project. Perfect fit & vibe. Certain vintage squires have wonderful necks..this is one of em! Silky smooth, & a very comfy short scale. It’s a joy to play. Frets are in extremely good shape, barely any wear if any. Neck is straight as an arrow, buttery & it’s truss rod works beautifully.


This Dog has a barking tone! Literally.. it’s on the treble-y side having just a sole bridge pickup. Super jangly & punchy. 
Perfect for slacker rock, blues, etc. 
Single coil pickup sounds nice - 1 knob for volume.. Aged to a nice creamy color but I’m not sure if it’s branding. 


* In need of a some slight tlc… A proper setup & a quick electronics clean up will do the trick.  The volume pot is a tiny bit fuzzy & lose, & the bridge saddles need some proper screws as they had kinda janky replacements. Otherwise it is good to go! Very minor. 

Ready to play once it gets some new bridge screws.  Happy to send more photos & video demos for anyone who is interested.

All jokes aside, this is truly a solid little guitar! Light weight but not cheaply made. Put together by the best.
