- 1999 Kenny HILL Madrid - after the style of Ramiriez.
- French Polish Cedar top
- Lacquer Indian Rosewood back and sides
- All solid wood
- Rosewood bridge, ebony fretboard
- 52mm at nut, 57mm at saddle
- Handmade in California before mass production
- Condition: One small 1/8" nick in finish at edge of binding, shown in picture. Around 8 small vertical fractures in the top French polish, hard to see in photos, not noticeable after you get a couple of feet away. My luthier tells me these are common with time, age and the settling of the wood, etc. No scratches or other damage.
- Great tone, volume
- Great action, set-up and playability. Action is about 2.5mm at the 12th fret on the high E, and around 3.5-4mm on the low E. No buzzing, no noticable fretware.
- I bought it new, played it for about a year at home, before concentrating on steel string guitars.
- About video link: This is a simple video meant only to show the sound of the guitar, I don't play classical music and don't have a good set of fingernails at the moment -- I am use to playing on a narrower fingerboard with steel strings and finger picks -- so I am using metal finger picks and a plastic thumb pick with a moderately sharp point in this video. Undoubtably you would have more control over the sound and expression of the tone with a nice set of finger nails.
