About This Listing

dB Hifi Florida

Good day from dB Hifi in
Daytona beach Florida.

My vintage HiFi journey began in 1972– when today’s vintage HiFi was contemporary. As a wide eyed twelve-year-old visiting (as often as possible) the local HiFi shops to ogle at Marantz, Sansui, Pioneer, Technics, JBL, Ohm, KLH, AR, and Other quality gear. Budget realities resulted in the purchase of a used reciever from Radio Shack and speakers from local dump. However, an oath was made, and honored. Fast forward decades later, I have the good fortune of acquiring multiple pieces of vintage HiFi gear
on a monthly basis – comparing, testing and Restoring them. I’m now committed to sharing the love and learning of vintage HiFi. Thank you for viewing.

Here is another Vintage item from a local DJ
/collector here in Florida.
The Technics SL-1200 Mk2 needs no further
introduction. So if your looking then ya know. This is the DJs choice nationwide. This one was used by the Miami Heat DJ and has seen plenty of hours of service. So with that being said it’s used and has its bumps/bruises. Please look at pictures it’s Not mint. I’m rating it a 9 on functionality and a 7 for it’s cosmetics. This model is very well built and quite heavy!
It works perfectly and has no dust cover included. Thanks

Remember what DJs used in the club before the 1200s? Nobody else does either. That's because our heavy-duty design, vibration-resistant construction, and mechanical precision make a lot of what those early DJs did possible. This deck was the first to feature a Direct Drive motor, quartz movement for total accuracy, adjustable tone arm weights, anti-skate control, a pop-up target light and a sliding pitch control.

SL-1200MK2

Description
The original Technics SL1200 was introduced in 1972 and featured a servo-controlled direct-drive mechanism and EPA-120 tonearm. The turntable was also available without an arm as the SL-120.
In 1979 the mkII was released with a Quartz Locked Phase control system providing exceptional pitch accuracy and an aluminium diecast cabinet which had a special heavy-duty rubber base to isolate the turntable from external vibration.
The SL-1210 model is virtually identical to the SL-1200 but features voltage selection and is usually finished in black instead of silver. When Technics introduced the original SL-1200 direct drive turntable several years ago, it made all other turntables seem antiquated in comparison. It became a strong favourite among audio purists, amateur and professional, and was particularly popular in discos because of its rugged construction, easy handling, high torque and good immunity to feedback. The mkII represents the next generation, incorporating numerous improvements over the original.
In addition to being quartz-locked, it permits continuous speed adjustment under quartz control, a feature appreciated by disco DJ's who wish to maintain consistent rhythm when changing records.
Its starring torque is high, with the platter reaching speed within 0.7seconds from a standstill.
It also maintains the selected speed better than the original SL-1200.
It should also prove virtually feedback proof because of its special base design.

Review
Produces surprisingly good sound, especially when paired with a good mid-priced cartridge. Interested in a high-performance, durable turntable? Well the 1200 might just be the one for you.
Thanks for looking dB
