Up for auction is a 1984? Fender stratocaster made in japan, from the desirable E series of serial numbers. The 1984 date is a best guess- the serial digits on this era do NOT work like American numbers. The E series was made from 1984-1987. The pots have 84 stamped on them, so that's my guess anyway, guitar is in great shape for its age and presents very well, esp since it is black. It has a few minor scuffs, scratches, and nicks- the worst of which are shown in pics. There is a small touched up spot next to the trem cavity on back there are a few extra screw holes under the p/g, but none are visible when guard is on. No extra routing or anything like that. Fret wear is VERY minimal. Guitar plays nicely with comfortable neck and medium low action. The pickguard is aftermarket aged cream pearloid, and the pickups are fender custom shop Texas specials. Pickup covers and knobs have been aged. Sounds excellent. Everything else is stock. Bridge is stamped saddle vintage style with large steel block for better sustain. The trem bar and rear cover are missing. This is an overall excellent example that is nearing vintage, and the quality shows. This is every bit as good as any USA strat I've owned. Shipping is to lower 48 USA only. Contact me if you want it sent elsewhere and we can work something out. Guitar is for sale elsewhere as well, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks and good luck. No case included
