Fender "SCHULTZ-0-CASTER" Master Built Prototype 1992 the famous Strat gifted to Bill Schultz @ NAMM

This is the most significant & earliest Custom Shop Stratocaster ever produced in September 1992 by JW Black & presented by the whole Team of Masters to the then President, Bill Schultz, at the 1993 NAMM show for their appreciation of Bill’s hard work moving the Master Builders into their iconic future of the Fender Company. Made as a pinicle to their boss, Jay & all the other Master Builders shared in picking out the finest materials ever put on to a production guitar. 1st they chose a solid 1 piece body made from the coolest AAAAA Quilted Maple that is not only 3D, but like 5D in depth w/not 1 spot missing magnificent figuring. In fact word has it that Bill got mad at the boyz for wasting so much perfect wood for maximum price potential on him ! Its Maple neck is filled w/tons of birdseye all over w/a stellar piece of Rosewood covered top to bottom w/a colorful intricate inlaid vine w/a white bound border. What’s most amazing is they chose to make it w/completely back loaded electronics leaving its fab front side showing thru a clear pickgard. Its loaded w/a set of hand made Gold Lace Sensor pickups personally wound by Don Lace himself sporting actual hand pained “Goldleaf” covers. Finally the back of its headstock is adorned w/JW Black’s Master Built signature logo & its 1-off serial # of “000” not to confuse it w/the 1st one made LOL. As the infamous Gil Southworth stated “Its yet to be made”. It’s featured in the Fender Custom Shop’s own book called “The Dream Factory” not once, but twice, to further document this amazing Strat. It’s pretty much brand new in all respects & has been residing in our Museum Display. Its comes w/its original Tweed case.
