1960’s era Shure model 51 “Sonodyne” microphone in very nice cosmetic and excellent working condition. This mic has all of its original components and has been professionally inspected, cleaned and tested. It comes with a 7 foot amphenol cable with a standard XLR plug to connect to most any modern recording or mixing interface. (if you do not need/want the cable, please message me for a discount on the selling price). The “Sonodyne” dynamic element has been tested and sounds great! The Hi-Medium-Low impedance switch on the bottom works as it should. This mic can be attached to most any modern mic stand with a standard 5/8” connection. The grey Atlas DS-7 stand in the photos is included in the sale. There is a slight chip on the metal thread at the connector (see photo #10) but the cable attaches securely and it can’t be seen when the cable is connected. The red screen is in very good condition with no holes or tears. There are some minor scratches and imperfections to the finish as seen in the photos, but overall it looks excellent, classic vintage art deco design by Shure!
The model 51 is known as as the “Nat King Cole” microphone as he used this model often back in the day (see final photo).
