2000’s Tokai Hummingbird Copy Left Hand Electric Guitar Rare Lefty Daphne Blue Offset Surf Eastwood Hahnster Ondori + EMG After Burner + Roadrunner Hard Case

Very cool and rare guitar for the lefty.

I believe this was made in Korea during the Tokai / Eastwood reissues of this model (2004?). Apparently a private guitar builder / seller had an agreement with Eastwood to have 6 of these left handed models made for personal builds. These are all based on the Tokai Hummingbird design. Each of the Hahnster builds were outfitted with different pickups and hardware. I believe only 6 of these lefties were made in this Daphne Blue finish. Super hard to find these for the lefty that’s looking for something different.

FEATURES:
25 1/2” scale with zero fret
Guitar weighs approximately 8 1/2 lbs on my scale
GFS Retrotron Pickups (not sure exact model)
EMG Afterburner Boost Circuit

This guitar is equipped with GFS humbuckers and an EMG AB “Afterburner” boost.

The EMG AB (Afterburner) is a boost you can use instead of your tone or volume knob (does not function as a tone or volume) and activate with our variable gain push/pull pot.

When the Push-Pull pot is in the “down” position there is no boost and the control has no effect. In the “up” position, rotating the pot can boost the input by up to 20dB at full rotation. The AB has up to 20dB of available gain and is perfect for increasing the signal of your clean tone or pushing a tube amp into overdrive. This is a great option for players looking to maximize their output for leads. This boost works with both active and passive pickups.

The AB does not function as a tone or volume, it is a boost control only.

Nice, solid build. Love these guitars.
I believe this guitar may need a new nut cut as the high E string and the B string had a buzz at Zero fret until I added an aluminum foil shim in the nut groove. Guitar is fully functional as is. Neck is straight, frets are clean, truss works. Personal set up will be required.

Comes with used Roadrunner Hard Case shown. Case is in good condition overall. Bottom latch is a little janky but all latches and hinges work and handle is secure.

Last picture shows my lefty Tokai Guitar and Elk amplifier. This picture is included for reference only and neither the black guitar or amp is included.

The Daphne Blue guitar and Roadrunner hard case shown are the only things included in this listing.

This is a pre owned guitar that will show some light signs of wear commensurate of age and use. Overall guitar is in very good cosmetic condition overall but graded as GOOD condition as it will most likely need a new nut and some personal set up. Only 6 of these lefties ever made in this finish!

Please see all pics and video for more details.
Selling as is and as described and shown in video.

Here’s what Eastwood had to say about their model Hummingbird when it was released. Some of these features may not be correct for this left handed model.

Eastwood Guitars Hummingbird Reissue

Vintage Tokai Hummingbird Tribute

Tokai is probably most widely known for producing high quality Japanese copies of famous vintage American guitars, especially popular models from Gibson and Fender. However, they also made some killer original models, and way back in 1967, the Hummingbird was one of the very first guitars they ever produced. Today, the 1967 Tokai Hummingbird is an extremely rare guitar and the perfect fit for an Eastwood Reissue / Tribute model. The unique styling is clearly influenced by Mosrite guitars and possibly magic mushrooms.

Features of the Hummingbird Tribute model reissue from Eastwood Guitars
