Up for sale, a 1970's Firstman Mosrite Ventures Model in excellent condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Strawberry Red gloss finish and Mosrite-branded hardshell case. A continuation of the Ventures Model legacy, this guitar follows the stylings of the 1960s USA Mosrites, but was produced in Japan in the '70s as a result of an agreement between Semie Moseley and the Firstman company.

All the hallmarks of the classic Mosrite design are present on this model, with a deep German Carve on the body, Moseley-branded vibrato tailpiece, and a pair of overwound single coil pickups. Rich and roaring, these pickups deliver a bold surfy treble-centric sizzle, with plenty of body and presence. The pickups meter at 9.1k ohms in the neck position and 12.3k at the bridge with oversized pole pieces, offering midrange rich growl and punch in the bridge position and a warm, present neck pickup that has a dry, percussive cut and plenty of guts. The guitar weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, feeling both substantial and fast, measuring .855" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard is a jet black and tight-grained cut of this particular tonewood, featuring cream fret edge binding and original slender frets which have good meat, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays well up the 24 3/4" scale, and the fretboard is 1 5/8" wide at the zero fret just forward of the aluminum nut. The headstock features original Kluson-style chrome-plated tuning machines that turn smoothly.

The simple and straightforward electronics work as intended, with a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The black plastic pickup covers are embossed with the Mosrite name, and the Moseley tailpiece has the same design as its USA-made predecessor featuring a taller, smaller diameter spring than a Bigsby and a quicker actuation for subtle warbles. The bridge shows light surface patina on the nickel-plated brass roller saddles, and the knobs are also the "smooth" style more akin to a pre-1966 Mosrite. The body features deep German Carve on top, and the Strawberry Red custom color finish is a particularly rare option, far less common than Candy Apple Red across the Mosrite model range. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few small finish chips on the lower bout body edge, some small dings primarily on the lower bout on the back, and just a few additional light finish scratches on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included with a small Mosrite badge on the exterior.
