1987 Charvel Model 1A in Black All Original Sounds and Plays Amazing Scratchy Finish but Looks Good

Here we have a 1987 Charvel 1A in a black on black color combo. 

Really good condition, if you can get by the scratchy condition of the body. Not all together horrible, just kind of tells a story. The paint shines great and looks the worst on the skinny top edge. Check the photos for the scratches and dings.. I may be biased, but it still presents well.

Pickguard is all original and does show it's age with pick marks, it has done it's job. Pickups are original as are the electronics and knobs. 2 tone and one volume. Quick connects added to the output and ground for easy pickguard removal and reinstall.

Original Gotoh bridge and tuners, work perfectly, but do show their age. I'm fairly critical, so just check the photos to see if you agree.

Original strap buttons with new washers. New D'addario XL 9's, very little to negligible fret wear. Plays great up and down the maple neck. 

Had a little knick on the bottom of the headstock, took it down and hit it with a little stain and tru-oil to try and match the carmalized  tone of the neck. A bit light, but it will age gracefully. Pointy tip is in tact, no issues and the headstock face looks good. 

You can see a couple of spots on the neck.. one ding on the lower edge on the lower frets, and one spot on the fretboard on the higher frets. The dimple on the higher frets was treated with a couple of coats of Tru-oil to seal it up, wasn't an issue, just more cosmetic, and the one up on the neck was left alone as I couldn't really feel it when playing.

All in all a great, gig worthy player. The tonal variation in these first of the Super Strats, is just amazing. Anything from classic, country to metal.
