For sale or possible trade is an exquisite and rare 2011 Charis (pronounced care-iss") Dreadnaught built by Master Luthier Bill Wise. In searching for a Charis, you will find mostly his Super Jumbo (SJ) acoustics; the Dreadnaught body size are very difficult to find and rarely come up for sale. Charis guitars are highly sought-after, and are frequently compared to Olsen guitars.
This fine instrument is constructed of a finely grained Adirondack Spruce Top, and highly figured Bubinga back and sides. Appointments include a custom Arm Bevel of Indian Rosewood, a Sound Port trimmed in Indian Rosewood, and Indian Rosewood binding. Needless to say...this guitar is absolutely stunning. Professionally installed LR Baggs pickup system included.
Not a ding or scratch on the guitar or the Cedar Creek case that accompanies the Charis.
I have attached a video below to provide a perspective on the tonal and sound qualities of this Charis. Although the guitar being demonstrated in the video is not this guitar, it is also a Charis dreadnaught of similar build and construction and is tonally comparable to the one in this listing.
The price of this guitar in 2011 was just shy of $7,000. Bill Wise (Charis) confirmed that the replacement cost for this guitar today would be $5925. My asking price is a very reasonable $4,100 shipped within the CONUS. May be interested in quality trades (TV is $4300); instruments that would interest me are:
- high-end boutique guitars, preferably OM, 000, or GA size bodies
- high-end electric guitars
- boutique amplifiers or Fender Vintage amps
Willing to consider even trades, or trade + cash coming to me.
