Fender first introduced the Strat in the 1950s and what an impact it made! Rock n Roll was born and Fender helped create a sound that changed popular music forever. Although there have been several design changes to the Strat over the years - most notably to the neck, the pick ups and the trem system - many guitar players still prefer the early designs.
One of the biggest design changes to happen to the Strat in the early 60s was the introduction of the C shaped neck profile. This slimmer neck design was an instant success and the C shape profile is still the most popular neck design on modern Fender guitars.
