Nordstrand Acinonyx Bass

Here's a fine example of the "Cat Bass" from Nordstrand.  It's a passive short-scale bass with a deep warm sound.  It has just one knob for volume and relies on buttons for pickup selection and tone control.  There's also an included Nordy Mute that can be placed over the strings at the bridge for further tonal options.  It's in super clean shape.  I can't find any blemishes.  I guess there's like a few fingernail scratches on the pickguard, but no bumps or dents!  I bought it new from Nordstrand and I've never gigged it.  (It has been pampered in the luxury of my smoke-free home studio!)  I never got a proper case for it, but I'll ship it in an old gig bag with lots of bubble wrap.

Lovingly nicknamed the "Cat Bass” in the workshop, The Acinonyx is an insanely cool, somewhat weird, and deceptively menacing instrument. This bass has all of the playability and phat tone you would expect from a short scale, plus the added fun of the tone control switches. Tone choices are available with a push of a button. Go “All In” by punching all of the buttons at once, which puts the pickups in series mode resulting in a a loud, thick, and punchy tone. The 1 over 3 headstock may seem unusual, but it provides straight string pull while honoring the original aesthetic of the Goya Panther.
