This is one of two Marta Jazz Hybrids built by Manuel Delgado of Nashville. If you aren’t familiar with this 4 generation luthier family, see delgadoguitars.com. They have built instruments for an amazing list of clients including Jose Feliciano, Los Lobos, and Arlo Guthrie. This guitar is well suited to players who normally play steel string acoustics but find the normal classical guitar to be too different to deal with. This guitar has a comfortable 1-13/16 or 47 mm nut width, and has a radiused fingerboard, so it is ideal for jazz, Latin, pop styles.
The guitar has master grade Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with a select German Spruce top. The neck is Honduras mahogany with an ebony inlay strip. It is a fairly loud yet mellow sound, and projects well. The lower bout is 14 inches wide and the body depth is 4.25 inches. I am the original owner since new.
The two major options on this guitar are the handmade and engraved Graf tuners (which retailed at $1000 a the time) and a gray granite finished Carlton case (also about $1000).
I am reducing my collection. I have several other high end guitars currently for sale in Tony’s Shop. Please message me with any questions.
Because of the Brazilian Rosewood, and not possessing CITES documentation for it, I am only offering this instrument for sale in Canada at this time. Since Brazilian Rosewood of this quality often is $5000 per set, the selling price including the upgraded tuners and case is very attractive.
