Allegheny Folk Instruments Cigar Box Guitar #10This is a hand built fretless cigar box guitar made by Allegheny Folk Instruments in Pittsburgh, PA.
Cigar box guitars are generally played with a slide, so the string action is set higher than on most guitars. This one is set up with a medium high action, and it can be played either with a slide or with your fingers. It sounds best with a slide, but you can do some really cool hybrid playing with it and it will sound great.
- Hand carved, highly figured maple neck
- Bolivian rosewood fingerboard
- Slotted headstock
- vintage style white button open geared tuners
- four string set up to a mid-range open G - GDGB

This guitar has a punchy, vibrant acoustic sound with great sustain and note clarity. Through an amp, it's warm and clear. Even driving the gain on my little Vox AC4 and soaking it in reverb, every note is crystal clear. If you want to gig with it, is gig ready. Just take out the end screw and replace it with a strap button and you'll be set. Your audience will be blown away by the tone your getting from this thing.
