Here's a rare Excelsior Americana all tube amplifier. What an interesting piece! Not much info on these, but they were apparently made by Sano or Ampeg for the well-known accordian maker Excelsior.
Everything starts with a 2x12 combo with reverb and tremolo. Channel 1 actually has a stereo preamp section, marked "accordian" but perfectly useable for guitar as well. The stereo channel feeds into a mono power amp, so it is not "true" stereo. Still very cool!
Channel 2 is more of a conventional guitar amp channel.
Another surprise is that the reverb is available on BOTH channels. The reverb effect is routed to a separate 5 or 6 inch speaker (see pics), which keeps the effect from sucking the unaffected tone. It also presents some interesting mic'ing possibilities for live or recording applications, since you can send the wet reverb effect to a separate channel for eq and other processing.
Condition is excellent overall, with very light handling and play wear. Everything works fine, but there is the normal static when you turn knobs, stuff that is typical for an old amp. Also, the original speakers are somewhat undersized, so they distort when you play the amp really loud. This thing would sound HUGE with a set of heavy duty 12s.
Includes the original leatherette zippered cover (separating a bit), footswitch for reverb/tremolo, stereo cable, and mono cable.
