Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique and rare late 1940's / early 50's era American RC crystal microphone made in Pasedena, California.  This particular model still has the decal as you can clearly see. Also included is a newer quality Shure dynamic element so that you can use this mic for either general broadcasting with an old school "rockabilly" sound and this will make an excellent harp mic.

This mic was originally intended for home recording and general broadcasting purposes and pic # 2 shows this very model.

The microphone was tested and was no longer working as the crystal element was dead. I decided to get this mic up and working again but with a stronger high impedance dynamic element. It's an older Shure type from a 540 model mic. It's a hardier design with a dirtier tone so you'll get a nice old school sound. Like the original crystal element with even more power. Element is well secured but can be easily removed from the body if needed.

If you play a harmonica then this will be an excellent mic. Lite weight and easy to cup.

The all metal body shows very typical wear on the original paint. It's free of any dents or engravings but there are some scratches and chips in the paint. The front chrome grill looks pretty good with lite wear and the inner metal screen is free of any rips or holes. Mic has all original screws. I would give it a solid 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking.

This RC mic comes with the vintage (but not original) cable that was shortened and a quality Switchcraft XLR end connector was installed. The cable is soft, pliable and 8 inches long. It's well secured and you can connect any longer XLR cable as an extension though you'll get a stronger signal if you use a female XLR to male 1/4 inch extension cable.

The mic will actually screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage items...

Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
