About This Listing

Available is one of the best Tele style guitars to come into our shop. Originally built for personal use, this guitar is now up for sale to help fund another purchase. This Ronin Betty is built out of Reclaimed Master Grade Old Growth Redwood and sits at a comfortable and balanced weight of 6.5lbs. The neck on this guitar is built from very strait and rigid 1/4" sawn roasted Maple. It features Izzy's C to D neck profile. This carve gets mildly chunky past the 5th fret and is not in any way a slim neck carve. The guitar was built with all high end parts. Emerson low friction pots, Glendale bridge and saddles. Rutters control plate and Hipshot tuners. The guard is real Bakelite. I should also mention that all Betty models are built 59'-Style with string through bridges and no holes in the body. This gives the strings a slightly more elastic feel, making double stop and single string bends simple. The fretboard radius is 9.5".

The pickups are a Foil Bucker Mini inside of the traditional Ronin cover with silver mesh. The bridge pickup is a Ronin-Wound T-style with A3 magnets. It was wound specifically to pair nicely with the Redwood body. It has a punchy and authoritative, in your face Bakersfield type tone. More of a mid - 50's type of sound, but with plenty of bite and clarity. The neck pickup is a classic Ronin double coil Foil-Bucker Mini. The tone is mesmerizing. Warm, airy and highly touch sensitive like the larger sized FB pickups found in the Mirari with a little more compression. There is also a "Magic Button" push-push mini button to activate an internal piezo-disk / acoustic pickup. One of the best sounds in this guitar is the neck pickup and MB on at once with a little bit of volume and tone rolled back. You get a cool acoustic archtop type of sound going.

All in all a beautiful guitar that most players will love. Bettys don't come up for sale often, as most buyers tend to keep them. While it is the most traditional of all of the Ronin models, the Betty still has that Ronin Guitars feel and vibe. It is not your everyday Tele. This is quite the inspiration machine. Simple yet effective and built to the highest of quality standards, as all of Izzy's / Ronin's builds are. This guitar was one of the very final Bettys ever built.

Excellent + condition. Recently setup by Izzy with a set of heavy bottom 9-46 gauge NYXL strings. The up close shots are of the relic job. Very little to no wear was put on this guitar from playing it. It has sat in a properly humidified music room and was never gigged with.
