Launched in 1983 the Les Paul Studio was designed to give you all the tone of a Standard but at a more cost effective price point by eliminating decorative binding and inlays. All the elements essential to the Les Paul sound are there; a C shaped mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, mahogany body with a maple top, Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece. 

We received this guitar without the original pickups so we chose to upgrade the instrument and installed Monty's PAFs from popular boutique UK winder Monty's. An open coil zebra at the bridge and black at the neck give it a mean and lean look and they sound superb with just the right balance of clarity and power. A definite upgrade! While the pickups have been changed the wiring assembly and pots remain original to the guitar. 

Cosmetically there are small scratches and dents throughout with some minor corrosion to the hardware all of which  is commensurate with an instrument that has been played but well maintained over the past 20 years. On the whole however, the guitar presents well, with a particularly bright and attractive finish. * When examining a truss rod on a straight neck, we check that it can turn up to about 45 degrees in both directions. When we say the truss rod can be adjusted, we mean it can be adjusted up to 45 degrees. Anything beyond that risks damaging the instrument.
