1986 MCI SONY Mara machines JH24-16 16 track 2" tape recorder with autolocator III, Stand, all new professional cabeling, alignment tape, and full service manuals. This is as rare and awesome of a find in 2" Analog tape machines as Sony/MCI had reached their pinnacle in quality with this model/era with the high quality IC sockets and rock solid autolocator III. The previous JH-16 model and earlier versions had the dreaded red ic sockets requiring consistent attention along with problematic remote issues. All this had been corrected by this revision model lending to its solid reputation. I purchased this machine from a gentlemen in Salinas California who purchased it from Chris Mara in late 2014 (see Mara machines for detailed specs). The machine is a time capsule and in 100% like new and perfect operable condition. All work at Mara Machines and head lab reports show 85% head life as detailed in the manuals and paperwork. This machine was purchased by a very discriminating Doctor from Salinas California with intentions of starting up a recording studio in 2014. The day job never afforded him the time and I was able to purchase it in 2016 with the same intentions. However, I have decided to let this machine go to fund a prewar instrument. Please call with any questions. The machines that are being offered today are 12k pre shipping and are not near the condition of this specimen. Reasonable offers will be considered.
